I love Charleston and the people at Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Last Wednesday night I gave gifts of hand-carved, wooden trivets from the Great Smoky Mountains, made by my friend, Tim Scholz, and booklets about God’s love, along with my song “Walking in the Light” in 9 gift bags for each of the families of the Christians who were shot. I got to meet the survivors of the horrific night who had to pretend they were dead or would have also been killed. I am going back to give the survivors gifts, too. I went there to encourage them, but they were the ones who encouraged me. God bless them as they keep on “walking in the light.”
