Out of the blue, last month, my mother was diagnosed with two serious skin cancers. I flew down to Sarasota to help her through surgery. She ended up needing reconstructive surgery after all of the cancer was removed, which has proven to be quite a process. Long story short, it could have been very, very serious, but God saw us through, and she is now healing fine. One of the skin cancers was on her face. She has not been able to wear glasses to read or drive since the biopsy, so I am still here helping her.
Covid is spreading again so badly in TN that my speaking and singing engagements and book signings for the rest of this year have been cancelled. Although my mother is healing beautifully, the surgeon here in FL is not yet sure whether or not she will need another surgery; so, needless to say, I have postponed the rest of my recording for my next music project until next year. I will be focusing on both my nonprofit work and my health coaching. As of today, I have helped two women lose over fifty pounds each in two-three months through intermittent fasting and have helped another woman lose close to twenty pounds in a month. This is rewarding for me as a health coach, as I work with these women daily. With covid spreading in FL to the point of hospitals being full again, I am social distancing and taking care of myself and happy to still be able to do my nonprofit as long as I can until it has to also be put on hold with the rise of this new variant.
I am thankful that my mother is going to be fine and thankful for gifts that money cannot buy. I will get back to my work of speaking and singing next year when hopefully this new delta variant of covid gets more under control and my mother is fully healed. As I am back and forth from FL to TN, my team is working in my place in the work of my nonprofit with the underprivileged children there. I am counting my blessings this fall and looking forward to the world getting back to some better kind of normal, hopefully, next year.
