“Still”

At Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston last Sunday, they played my song, “Still,” before the service began as the people were getting seated. It is true. God is “still” everything He promised, even in the midst of the crimes against humanity we are hearing about weekly on the news and after the tragic shooting of the Christians in Charleston.

A video of the song is posted here .

Last Sunday in Charleston

withNancyLast Sunday I had the honor of singing a solo “‘Til the Storm Passes By” at Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal in Charleston, SC. What a wonderful church service we had! I brought more gifts for the victims.

Before the church service began last Sunday, they played my song “Still.”

Here I am with my new friend, Nancy, who was a survivor of the shooting that Wednesday night. We were standing in the same room the shooting took place for the same Wednesday night Bible study. I miss this church already, and  I love my brothers and sisters there.

Speaking and Singing Last Night on Cherokee Lake

Last night I had such a wonderful time singing in a new pavilion on Cherokee Lake at Harrell Park surrounded by the mountains. Here I am at sound check. It was full, and I was so happy to get to spend some time with lifelong family friends and make some new friends, too. It was really special because my dad was there.

One of the women there has a great outreach to women in jails, and I hope to get her copies of my new book when it is done, ‘Happiness: No Man Required.’ She explained that most of the women there had gotten in trouble because of getting involved with the wrong men. There are so many ministry opportunities in this area.

I love the people of beautiful East Tennessee. Last night thrilled my soul!
