Dwayna Litz Documentary Soon to Come

Here I am with the legend, Charlie McCoy, on harmonica, and a new pianist who did not disappoint, Ryan Jones. Mark Niemiec was the engineer. We recorded three songs with no click track, just feeling them live together: “Moon River” and “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and “My Jesus I Love Thee.”

Then, the background vocalists came, and it was another full day where I was there from 9:30 until 7:00.

I have also begun a documentary, so some of it was filmed. The documentary will be to encourage artists to keep growing in being all they can be by measuring themselves only against their own potential, not contingent on any opinion of an A&R person. The best music is created–not for fame or money–but from the heart, just because it is part of who we are. In addition to this theme, the documentary will be about our stories of how we all got to the place we are as singers and musicians. Some stories also will be included about what was the inspiration behind some of the songs I have written.

While art is all about feelings, I have found that not all artists have a heart able to feel enough to write great songs. As Quincey Jones said, “Your music will never go deeper than who you are as a person,” so we can thank God for all that we go through in life, especially in the area of pain, that gives our music depth.
