I walked down Music Row today for the first time in well over a decade, and all I felt in my old stomping grounds was JOY! All the memories, the good and the bad, brought nothing but gratefulness to my heart today, so thankful for every season of my life and to be at such a good place now.
I recorded here for the first time when I was 15 and moved here at 17, and I learned a lot about music and even more about life.
I walked past the house that used to be Famous Music, which is now a yoga studio, took a peek inside and it felt like yesterday when I was going in there talking to the creative director in my early twenties…
I stopped by the coffee shops and spoke with students from Belmont and Vanderbilt (many living on Music Row now in the new apt. buildings) about my latest song, and the students were so awake when it comes to all that is going on…that I could have stayed with them all day.
What a beautiful day this has been!
