About this time last year, Dwayna had the opportunity to meet one of her favorite songwriters of all time, Amy Grant, backstage at an Amy Grant concert in NYC. Here is a quote from Dwayna:
“I got to tell Amy how her husband, Vince Gill, took the time to encourage me once after hearing me rehearse with my band at SIR in Nashville, saying, ‘Don’t ever give up. You are good,’ which was a moment in time I never forgot. I told her that I am sure he would never remember it, but it meant so much to me. She was so nice to mention my name to everyone from the stage that I stood there in the crowd with tears in my eyes, so honored that she would single me out to everyone there as a songwriter. She is as nice and genuine as she is talented. Tabitha Fair sang background vocals, and it was a really special night.”
Dwayna has written songs with Tony Harrell, Amy’s keyboard player, and is planning to get her new CD “I’m the Girl I Used to Know Again” to Amy Grant and Vince Gill, two incredible songwriters and people. Life is full of such great surprises and blessings along the way, which is the theme of the new CD.
