Hiking Twelve Miles in Tennessee Yesterday

LeConte

LeConte6I took a break from writing, and I hiked almost twelve miles yesterday in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I went to the highest peak of Mt. LeConte, over 6600 feet up (6 miles up). It was an amazing view and exhilarating workout.  I hiked with a really nice guy from NY and a hiking club of about 60 people from Houston. It is no wonder that the autumn is the most popular season in the Smokies.  The views are breathtaking. Makes me proud to say I am from Tennessee with these mountains as my home. I am enjoying working on music again in Nashville. God’s creation filled up my heart yesterday in beautiful Tennessee. I think I’ll keep it. NYC fails in comparison…

“Is It Just Me” is a compilation of soulful love songs, reminiscent of the way country music used to be back in the day artists in Nashville were told, “You could have a hit with just the right song.” It was during a period when no one could have foreseen the shift in country music to its country-rap of today. Most of these songs were first penned in Nashville and revised and recorded in New York City from 2013-2015/ Genres: country, pop, soul, R&B/ Thumbnail album cover photography by Eli McFadden and design by Dave Gates

Health Tip for Hair

My hair has never been in better shape, thanks to Aveda. Though I am a natural redhead, I like to bump up the color every now and then. Aveda does not have the harsh chemicals like the other brands. I also drink Joint Formula, by Vibrant Health, which is the best supplement I have ever found for hair, skin and nails. (See my Vibrant Health page on this blog for a discount when ordering. Samples of Joint Formula are also at most Whole Foods stores. Though it says it is for joints, it strengthens the hair and nails.)

Here I am today at the Aveda Salon with straight hair for a change (way too much trouble for me to maintain on a daily basis). I will be back to the curls tomorrow, but it was fun today. Here’s to Aveda!AvedaOct2015
