Dwayna Litz’s “America Come Home”

Dwayna Litz is an American singer, songwriter, author and speaker. She was called an “Artist to Watch” by Spin Magazine in 2025 with her single “Stayin’ Gone.” Her first cut as a songwriter was with Patti LaBelle on her Grammy nominated Gold “Flame” album for a song she penned called, “Let Me Be There for You.” Dwayna recorded her “Counting Your Blessings” album with a full orchestra of new renditions of the Great American Songbook and was the last to record at Tony Bennett’s studio before it closed in Englewood, NJ. Her music is published with Universal Music, Spirit Music Group and her own publishing company, Litz Music. With elements of country, rock, pop, Jazz, bluegrass and Gospel, Dwayna has a sound all her own.

“America Come Home” is a plea– THIS song was written as a tribute to the America we used to have– before the rise of shootings and so many crimes against humanity happening domestically–for the United States to become more united and less divided, one person at a time. “America Come Home” is for the best of Americans—no matter the political party or race or religion, for us to come together in more respect and love for one another.

“America Come Home” debuted last month on the MMD College Radio Charts at #12 and continues to be played on non-commercial, community-owned FM stations throughout the USA. All proceeds go to help underprivileged children and teens raised in crime filled areas of America.

(Caveat:  Dwayna’s next single—soon to come for Spotify, FM Stations and Sirius– is a song she wrote last month called “My People,” dedicated to Minneapolis and the memory of Rob Reiner, about being on the side of love in a land so divided).

Meeting Danny Seraphine at the Cutting Room NYC

Back in 2016, when the band, Chicago, was inducted into the Rock-n-roll Hall of Fame, I got to hear and meet Danny Seraphine when he played at the Cutting Room in NYC. It was great to hear him play, get his book and talk a little. I saw the documentary last night of “Chicago the Band,” and it brought back this good memory.

Here in this new year of 2026, I am thankful for electricity with ice storms hitting our country! And, for a week of doing a lot of writing inside and other work, excited about this new year!
