It felt like the best shoot of my life this week with Eli McFadden as photographer this week. I was so in -the- moment that it felt like I was walking on air. These photos were taken by the makeup artist, Marz Collins (who also did the most beautiful job), and the real photos should be finished and out by the spring. I am still celebrating the perfect day!

I am preparing to finish my forthcoming bluegrass CD next month with only two more songs yet to record from scratch, “Precious Memories” (my grandmother’s favorite) and “Orange Blossom Special” (my grandfather’s favorite).
I have been reading old letters and poetry from my grandfather today, a self-taught musician. He never knew how talented he was. I got my love for writing songs and poetry from him. We used to write songs and poetry for fun and imitate people we knew having fun just laughing in the kitchen and doing skits as I was growing up, as if it was just the normal thing to do. I never realized the depth of his talent and creativity growing up. I just knew I loved him. I miss him every day, and I am so thankful to be dedicating my next CD to him. He loved playing bluegrass music and was always so proud of me. I cannot remember one time that I sang a solo in church as a child that I did not look out to see him weeping, as well as my grandmother and my precious mother, so touched that God was using my talent for His glory. I thank God I was raised in a Christian home and for the heritage God has given to me.
I have never been so excited as I am about my photo shoot this week in Franklin, TN, at Leiper’s Fork on a beautiful farm, for my forthcoming CD “Mountain Music” with Eli McFadden! More news soon to come!
